Purim Festivities At Beth Am Temple

Join the fun at the Purim Carnival, Dinner, Service & "Annie" Themed Shpiel

Beth Am Temple in Pearl River celebrates Purim with several family friendly events open to the public. The fun begins with the Annual Purim Carnival on Sunday, March 13. The event begins at 10:30 am with storytelling and songs. The carnival celebration takes place from 11 am to 1 pm and includes music, games, prizes, food and a costume contest. Admission is free with Game tickets and Raffle Prize and 50/50 tickets available for purchase.

Game tickets cost $1 for 1, $5 for 10 and $10 for 25. Raffle Prize and 50/50 tickets cost $5 for 1, $10 for 2, $15 for 10 and $20 for 20. Local merchants contributed to the raffle prizes and 50/50 drawing. Snacks and beverages are available for purchase. The carnival, which is run by the temple’s youth group, is the major fundraiser for Beth Am Temple’s youth programs.

The Purim festivities continue on Wednesday, March 23 with the catered Purim Dinner at 6:15 pm. Children under 10 years old and Beth Am Temple Religious School students ages 11 to 18 are admitted for free. Everyone else from age 11 and up pays $13 per person. The maximum cost for a family with up to six members is $45. RSVPs are required by Sunday, March 20. Join the Purim service at 7 pm for the retelling of how Esther saved the Jewish people of ancient Persia and foiled the evil plot of Haman. Dress up in costume, grab a noisemaker or two and be part of the lively and entertaining Purim Megillah Reading and Megillah Madness: An “Annie” themed Shpiel. The shpiel cast features performances for the first time by both Hebrew High School students and adult congregants. A delicious Purim Kiddush will follow the service.
