Rockland Man With Suspended License Faces Drug Charge

He was stopped on the Thruway.

CLARKSTOWN, NY – A Spring Valley man stopped on the Thruway Saturday faces charges in Clarkstown and was turned over to Stony Point police.

At 2:26 a.m. March 23, state police stopped a vehicle on I-87 in the town of Clarkstown for several vehicle and traffic violations. During their interview of the driver, they concluded they had probable cause to search the vehicle.

The driver, Juan M. Genao, 24, was determined to have a suspended license and was found to be in possession of 57 grams of marijuana. He also had an active warrant out of Stony Point Police Department.

Genao was taken into custody and transported to state police offices in Tarrytown where he was processed and charged with Criminal Possession of Marijuana 4th degree; a Class A Misdemeanor, Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle 3rd degree; an Unclassified Misdemeanor, and Multiple Vehicle and Traffic Violations.

Genao was issued appearance tickets returnable to the Town of Clarkstown Court on April 1, 2019 at 9:30 a.m. and turned over to the custody of Stony Point Police Department.
