Rotary Club of New City Blood Drive in Memory of Humanitarian and Past District Governor Jeffrey Keahon
Rotarians annual blood drive honors Jeffrey Keahon's spirit of community.

The Rotary Club of New City is having their annual blood drive. They hold it each year, just before Mother’s day. Robin Friehling of the New York Blood Center has reported that due to the extremely harsh winter, donations were way down and supplies are dangerously low. Working with the New City Rotary, they hope to gather 100 pints of blood to help offset the low supply.
This year, the Rotary honors Jeffrey Keahon as a memorial to his community spirit, philanthropy and service above self. Jeffrey was the past District Governor of District 7210 and has worked tirelessly for Rotary causes like wiping out Polio. Jeffrey went to Mexico to help administer oral Polio vaccine to children as just one of the many community-minded and philanthropic things he did. Keahon, a modest Philanthropist was involved in 15 Boards of nonprofit organizations over the years, including Meals on Wheels, Jawonio, YMCA, United Way and many more.
Jim Burton who serves at the Community Service Director for the Rotary invites all able-bodied people to come and donate. “Bring a friend and come by for a pint!” The blood drive is scheduled for Thursday, May 7th at the St Augustine School gymnasium located at 140 Maple Avenue, New City. Hours are 9:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m. You can self-schedule your donation in advance by visiting https://drm.nybloodcenter.org/PublicScheduler/GroupLanding.aspx?GroupCode=65508
