The Shops Hosts Run For Retta

On May 1st at 9:00am the Shops at Nanuet and the Nanuet Chamber of Commerce will host the first annual Run For Retta. The event includes a series of one mile runs/walks with all proceeds being donated to the Breast Center at Nyack Hospital. There will be an elite run for seasoned runners, followed by an open run/walk, a "pink diva" run/walk, a stroller walk, and kids runs. The race is being help in memory of "Retta", Loretta Cappiello, a beloved and former Nanuet resident who recently died from inflammatory breast cancer, an unusually aggressive form of the disease.

There will be plenty of activities for the whole family including music, face painting for kids, a photo booth, snacks, and much more. Anyone can signup that morning at the event or online at:

T-shirts will go to the first 150 who register. Runners and walkers can also register as teams with an award going to the team with the most participants.
