UPDATE: Something Strange Happened When NJ Cop Chased Truck into NY [Video]
A cop car chased a truck for about 20 miles, and ran into a bit of trouble.

UPDATE 7:30AM Jan. 3: The driver who dragged a police car during a chase from New Jersey to New York was arraigned before the Monroe town court and sent to the Orange County Jail on $50,000 cash bail or $150,000 bond.
New York State police said Paul T. Gudanowski, 50, of Wood-Ridge, NJ, is scheduled to reappear in court on Jan. 6, 2017.

A suspect who stole a flatbed truck ended up dragging a police car from New Jersey, according to police.
Officers in East Rutherford spotted a flatbed truck that had been reported stolen from Hackensack and attempted to stop it, but the driver fled.

The pursuit continued on the New York State Thruway, where New York State Police said members of Troop T - Zone 1 joined the pursuit.
State police said the vehicle's driver, Paul T. Gudanowski, 50, of Wood-Ridge, New Jersey sped north until Exit 15 in Harriman, where he made an illegal U-Turn, then intentionally struck two different New York state troopers' cars, disabling both.
Gudanowski continued southbound leaving the Thruway at Exit 15A and traveled onto Route 17, where he struck the East Rutherford PD vehicle.
Finally, NY state police said, Gudanowski was taken into custody on Route 59 in the village of Hillburn, New York.

He was charged with:
- Criminal Possession of a Stolen Vehicle in the 3rd Degree
- Criminal Mischief in the 3rd Degree
- Assault in the 2nd Degree
- Unlawful Fleeing in the 3rd Degree
- Driving While Intoxicated
- Reckless Endangerment
- Resisting Arrest
- Numerous Vehicle and Traffic Violations
Both troopers sustained minor injuries and were treated and released from St. Luke's Hospital. The East Rutherford PD Officer was not injured, New York state police said.
"Our K-9 Unit as well as other officers were assigned to this area to assist," according to the Suffern Police. "Have a great safe day my friends!"
