Authorities said the man fled the state after killing another man.
SPRING VALLEY, NY — A Spring Valley man will be spending time in prison for the stabbing death of another man. Rockland County District Attorney Thomas E. Walsh II said Tuesday that Jose Alejandro Icu-Madrid, 24, of Spring Valley, was sentenced to 22 years in state prison in connection with the killing of Jairo Danilo Sandoval del Cid.
“I commend the work of my office and the Ramapo Police Department in bringing closure to the family of the victim, Jairo Danilo Sandoval. First Assistant Dominic Crispino and his team did a fantastic job,” Walsh said.
On Sept. 24, Icu-Madrid pleaded guilty to one count of first-degree manslaughter, a felony.
