Spring Valley Man Is Sexual Predator: DA
A 16-year sentence is necessary to protect the community, Gilleece said.
A 16-year prison sentence is necessary to protect the community from a Garnerville man sentenced for repeated sex abuse, Acting Rockland County District Attorney Kevin Gilleece said Thursday.
Bretton, 43, was also sentenced to 20 years post-release supervision. He pleaded guilty in May to one count of Criminal Sexual Act in the First Degree, a class “B” Violent Felony.
“The sentence meted out by the Court is more than justified, as it is necessary to protect the community from this individual who has admitted to being a sexual predator,” Gilleece said. “There is no room in a civilized society for criminals such as this defendant.”
