Swim Across America - Making Waves to Fight Cancer

United Hospice of Rockland (UHR) is seeking individuals to jump in and swim to raise money to support the fight against cancer.

United Hospice of Rockland (UHR) is seeking individuals to jump in and swim to raise money to support the fight against cancer. The Swim for Hospice is dedicated to the memory of Marc Holland and is hosted by the Town of Clarkstown at Germonds Park Pool, 185 Germonds Road, West Nyack on Sunday July 12, 2015 starting at 7:00 AM. The swim is sponsored by Swim Across America and the event supports UHR’s mission and the Fight Against Cancer. The Swim Across America event directly benefits the Children’s Hospital of NY – Presbyterian Medical Center, The Swim Across America and DeMatteo Research Labs at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, as well as UHR.

Swimmers of all ages are welcome to participate. Swimmers may swim ½ mile, 1 mile or form relay teams. Teams of friends and family may join as a group, in honor or in memory of a loved one, or just for fun. Each swimmer receives a T-shirt and a towel. Showers and changing facilities are available at Germonds Pool and light refreshments will be provided. Check-in starts at 7:00 AM and swimmers are taken on a first come, first served basis.
