Family Best Bets of the Week:

Where/When: 150 Convent Rd at the Nanuet Family Resource Center Gym (Formerly St. Agatha) in Nanuet; Saturday from 1 to 5 p.m. The cub scouts are also looking for donations for the yard sale

Why Go: Kids love to find hidden treasures at yard sales. Give them a few dollars and they can haggle their way to a new toy, while raising money for cub scouts.

Price: Free to enter.

Buy and Decorate

Where/When: on Saturday from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Why Go: It's almost Mother's Day, time to start working on those gifts. Dads, grab your kids and head over to decorate photo boxes for Mom!

Pricing: Cost of photo box, decorating is free.

- Giant 40 Family Tag Sale Fundraiser

Why Go: This fundraiser for Nursery School of the Nyacks draws crowds annually. Toys, clothes, books—anything you could need for babies, kids, homes and much more.

When/Where: Saturday, April 30th 9:00am-4:00pm, no early birds. (Rain Date 5/7). 110 Clinton Avenue (Corner of Franklin and Clinton)  Nyack, NY.

- GAGA Arts and Music Festival

Why Go: Live music, crafts, dance, food and live demonstrations. 15,000 square feet of gallery space draws nearly 5,000 visitors—an arts event not to be missed.

When/Where: Saturday, April 30 & Sunday May 1. 11 a.m. - 6 p.m. Garnerville

Why Go: In honor of Earth Day, enjoy a day of crafts, demonstrations, games and environmental awareness.

When/Where: Saturday, April 30. 11 a.m. - 5 p.m. Memorial Park. Nyack.

- March For Babies

Where/When: Saturday, April 30, starting at the Blue Hill Plaza Courtyard. Registration begins at 8 a.m. and the walk starts at 9 a.m.

Why Go? This fundraiser for the March of Dimes raises money to go toward research, advocacy, education and grants to help deal with premature births and help parents have healthy babies. There will be breakfast from Panera, lunch from Applebees, activities for the kids such as face painting and a DJ as well as the five-mile walk through town. To register, go to www.marchforbabies.org or just show up early on race day. Check back with Patch later this week for more information on this event.

Pricing: There is no minimum pledge for this fundraiser, but organizers hope participants raise at least $25

Pancake Breakfast at St. Aedan's Church

Where/When: St. Aedan's Church, 23 Reld Drive in Pearl River; Sun., May 1 after the 8 and 9:30 a.m. Masses.

Why Go? Because breakfast is the most important meal of the day. All are invited to enjoy delicious pancakes offered at a great price.

Price: $5 per family
