Would-be X-Box Robber Convicted
The Rockland District Attorney says the Middletown resident brandished a hunting knife at the Best Buy in the Palisades Center.

Rockland County District Attorney Thomas P. Zugibe today announced that Devon Thomas, 22, of Middletown, NY has been convicted of:
• One Count of Robbery in the Third Degree, a class “D” Felony
At approximately 2:20 pm on May 13, 2014, Thomas stole an X-Box gaming console from the Best Buy retail store at the Palisades Center in West Nyack. When a Best Buy Asset Protection Officer requested the defendant produce a copy of the sales receipt, he brandished a hunting knife and stated “not today.”

Clarkstown Police responded to the scene and arrested the defendant. Thomas was sent to the Rockland County Jail.
Sentencing is scheduled for April 13, 2015. He faces a maximum of seven years in state prison.
