• Man arrested on weapons charges in Nassau (newportdispatch.com) — State Police say a Nassau man faces numerous felony and misdemeanor weapons and child endangerment charges after allegedly shooting himself outside a Nassau home and falsely claiming an unknown assailant was responsible. Investigators later seized 10 illegally possessed, unsafely stored firearms and also charged another Nassau resident with falsely reporting information during the March 20 incident.
   

• Brooklyn Man Arrested In 2021 Acid Attack on Ex-Girlfriend (blackenterprise.com) — Nassau County prosecutors say a Brooklyn man orchestrated a 2021 acid attack on a Hofstra student outside her Long Island home, leaving her with lasting injuries and trauma. He and an alleged accomplice have pleaded not guilty, and the case is moving through Nassau’s courts with the potential for a lengthy prison sentence if he’s convicted.
