New Paltz's Historic Huguenot Street awarded $2M capital grant to build visitor center (westfaironline.com) — Historic Huguenot Street in New Paltz has secured a $2 million state arts grant to build a new Education and Visitor Center, easing strain on its 300-year-old stone houses. The project will expand parking, connect to the Empire State Rail Trail, and was redesigned with village feedback to protect the site’s historic character and tree canopy.

2. SUNY New Paltz Officially Joins the NJAC (njacsports.com) — SUNY New Paltz athletics has officially left the SUNYAC and joined the New Jersey Athletic Conference, becoming its first full member from outside New Jersey. The move keeps travel manageable while preserving key sports like women’s tennis and men’s volleyball and adding men’s lacrosse as a newly sponsored NJAC sport.

3. Four injured in town of Rochester crash, police say (dailyfreeman.com) — Four people were injured but are in stable condition after a two-vehicle crash Sunday evening on Route 44/55 in the town of Rochester. Kerhonkson-Accord First Aid Squad led the response, with help from New Paltz Rescue Squad and other Ulster County agencies, whose coordinated work helped ensure everyone is expected to recover.

Robert Drake turns from Shandaken government to countywide challenges (hudsonvalleyone.com) — Ulster County legislative hopeful Robert Drake, a former SUNY New Paltz student who spent a decade living in town, is pivoting from Shandaken government to countywide issues. He’s centering his campaign on flood resiliency, lowering insurance costs, and fixing dangerous gaps in emergency radio coverage across his district.
