3 States, DC, Puerto Rico Added To NY Quarantine List: Cuomo
Travelers from Illinois, Kentucky and Minnesota are among 34 states whose travelers now must quarantine upon arrival in New York.
NEW YORK CITY — Forget about that weekend trip to Chicago, boozy getaway drinking down the Bourbon Trail or fishing trip to the Boundary Waters.
Travelers from Illinois, Kentucky and Minnesota now must quarantine once they arrive in New York, Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced Tuesday.
He also added Washington, D.C. and Puerto Rico to the quarantine list.

"That means there are now ... 34 states, D.C. and Puerto Rico that are on the quarantine list," he said.
The new additions illustrate how the coronavirus pandemic continues to grow outside of New York. States are placed on the quarantine list if their positive rates reach 10 percent or more for a week.

New York's positive rate has steadily decreased and currently stands at 0.93 percent, Cuomo said.
Travelers from quarantine states must fill out a State Department of Health travel form or else pay $2,000 fine. They must also quarantine for 14 days.
And the coronavirus could affect New York City travel in another way. Cuomo excoriated Senate Republicans for not including state aid in a proposed new stimulus bill.
Without that help, MTA and LIRR could increase and improvements at JFK and other city airports could be halted, Cuomo warned.
