6 Deaths In NYC May Be Linked To Extreme Cold, Snowstorm
The city's medical examiner will determine the official cause of death for all six individuals.
NEW YORK CITY — Police are investigating six deaths linked to the freezing temperatures and major snow storm over the weekend.
On Sunday, a 52-year-old man died on a Queens street. Officers found him unresponsive at 10:30 a.m. near 96th Street and 34th Avenue. He was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
Mayor Zohran Mamdani had previously disclosed five people were found dead outside on Saturday.

On Saturday, a man was found dead outside 185-46 Hilburn Ave. in Jamaica. Two other men were unresponsive at different locations in Manhattan, according to police. Lastly, a man and a woman were found dead in separate locations in Brooklyn.
“I send my deepest condolences to their families and loved ones. While we do not yet know their causes of death, there is no more powerful reminder of the danger of extreme cold and how vulnerable many of our neighbors are, especially homeless New Yorkers," Mamdani said on Sunday.
