7 Trains Extensively Delayed After Grand Central Bust, MTA Says
Transit officials warned straphangers to expect massive delays after a 7 train broke down at Grand Central Tuesday morning.
NEW YORK CITY -- A busted 7 train at Grand Central jammed up service between Manhattan and Queens during Tuesday morning rush hour, officials said.
MTA officials suspended 7 train service from about 5:40 a.m. to 6:30 a.m. as they pulled a train with mechanical problems from the tracks in midtown Manhattan.
Trains were up and running again by about 6:45, with reduced service from 34th Street-Hudson Yards to Queensboro Plaza, but the MTA warned straphangers to expect extensive delays in both directions.
