9/11 Memorial 'Tribute In Light' Back On, Cuomo Says
New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo said state health personnel will be on hand to ensure coronavirus precautions are taken during the ceremony.

NEW YORK, NY — "Tribute in Light," the commemoration of the 9/11 terrorist attacks on New York City, will be held this year after all, New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo confirmed on Twitter on Saturday.
Cuomo's announcement came just days after 9/11 Memorial & Museum officials nixed the 2020 tribute due to coronavirus concerns.
In his tweet, Cuomo said the state will provide "health personnel and supervision" to ensure this year's tribute is held safely.

The announcement from Cuomo comes a day after the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation said it would step in to make sure the tribute happened on Sept. 11.
Foundation CEO David Siller, who lost his firefighter brother in the terrorist attacks, told Fox & Friends Weekend the lights will shine skyward as always, as will the solemn reading of the names of the victims
"All I know is that the Tunnel to Towers Foundation wants to make sure that we never forget the sacrifice that was made on Sept. 11 and the loss of life," he told Fox & Friends. "That's what our responsibility is. That's why we are going to make sure we are reading those names live on Sept. 11.
The foundation’s tribute will be held just south of the memorial plaza and relatives will read the victims’ names, with mask-wearing enforced and podiums being sanitized after each speaker, according to The Associated Press.
