Ainsley Earhardt wins Christopher Award for “Through Your Eyes"

Fox host's book is one of 12 to receive an award at the 69th annual gala in NYC on May 17

Author, Fox host, anchor and New York City-based correspondent Ainsley Earhardt and illustrator Ji-Hyuk Kim from South Korea have been honored with a Christopher Award for “Through Your Eyes: My Child’s Gift to Me,” (Preschool and up, Aladdin Books/Simon & Schuster Children’s Publishing). The book is one of 12 for adults and young people by 19 authors and illustrators to be celebrated on May 17, 2018 at the 69th annual Christopher Awards in New York along with the writers, producers and directors of 9 feature films and TV/Cable programs.

Earhardt reflects on her experiences as a mother and viewing wonders of the world through a child’s eyes in this follow-up to “Take Heart, My Child.” As we race through life, we need the wisdom and perspective of a child to remind us what is important and what should be celebrated and remembered: the everyday joys and miracles and simple pleasures of life that a trip through the park can bring. Our children teach us and awaken our own inner child.

Ainsley Earhardt is a journalist who is the cohost of FOX and Friends. She is an anchor and correspondent for the Fox News Channel and she also reports for FOX’s The Sean Hannity Show with her own segment called “Ainsley Across America.” She was the former cohost for Fox & Friends First and has also cohosted FOX and Friends Weekend, FOX’s All-American New Year’s Eve, America’s News Headquarters, been a panelist on The Live Desk and appeared on Greg Gutfeld’s Red Eye.

The Christopher Awards were created in 1949 to celebrate authors, illustrators, writers, producers and directors whose work “affirms the highest values of the human spirit.” The Christophers, a nonprofit organization founded in 1945 by Maryknoll Father James Keller, is rooted in the Judeo-Christian tradition of service to God and humanity. The ancient Chinese proverb—“It’s better to light one candle than to curse the darkness”— guides its publishing, radio, and awards programs. More information about The Christophers is available at www.christophers.org.
