The first day of summer is nearly here, and that means one thing: Make Music New York!

Join us on the Open Street on 101st Street this Saturday, June 21, for an afternoon of family fun and music-making. The schedule kicks off at noon with street games, yarn art and beading, plus opening our Street Lab mobile library for the season — and, of course, splashing in the hydrant!

Then settle in for a family-friendly Make Music NY concert at 5 p.m. hosted in partnership with The National Jazz Museum in Harlem. The People of Earth are bringing their salsa, timba and global rhythms -- so plan to bring your dancing shoes.

Plus grab a bite at any of our nearby small businesses including Bar Goyana, Burritos y Mas, Cafe D’Anvers, Chu Ros Thai, Dalila’s Tacos, Taqueria El Tepeyac, Frenchy Coffee, Girasole Trattoria, Healthy Frenchy, Lloyd’s Carrot Cake, Plue Thai Kitchen, Rosenthal Wine or Sugar Hill Creamery.

Click for our growing Open Streets lineup sponsored by Uptown Grand Central in partnership with NYC DOT, NYC SBS, Hope Community, Ascendant Development, CIVITAS, Community Board 11 and Deputy Speaker Diana Ayala.
