While Mary Cassatt is best known for her mother-and-child paintings, her work spans diverse subjects - from Parisian modern women, to portraits of older women and fathers with their children. In this four-session course with art historian Ruth E. Iskin, we’ll explore Mary Cassatt’s relationship to both New York and Paris and discuss her masterpieces of visual art, set in the context of her life and the cultural history and politics of her time.
