Celebrate Pride with the Museum! Explore queer Jewish joy through romance books, hear stories of queer Jews from the Holocaust to the present and join Keshet for a workshop on building LGBTQ+ equality and belonging. See the full schedule below:

11:30 AM – 12:30 PM: Queer Jewish Love Stories

This panel with Shelly Jay Shore, author of Rules for Ghosting and Love Me Like a Rock Song, and Paul Rudnick, author of The Tuxedo Society and What is Wrong with You?, will explore themes of queer Jewish joy and romance in literature.

1 – 2:30 PM: LGBTQ+ Equality & Jewish Values: A Community Workshop with Keshet

This training is designed for community members at large and will familiarize them with the basics of building LGBTQ+ equality and belonging. At the end of this training participants will be able to:

  • Identify and understand the core terms and concepts related to LGBTQ+ identities. 
  • Make connections between LGBTQ+ equality and Jewish values. 
  • Understand the importance of building explicitly LGBTQ+ affirming communities. 
  • Identify ways that all community members can be part of building LGBTQ+ affirming culture. 

3 – 4 PM: Voices of Pride: Queer Jewish Stories Past and Present with Rabbi Amichai Lau-Lavie, Eric Marcus, Miryam Kabakov, and Samuel C. Huneke

This panel featuring Samuel C. Huneke, author of I Will Not Abandon You: Queer Women in Nazi Germany; Eric Marcus, founder and host of the award-winning Making Gay History Podcast; Miryam Kabakov, Executive Director of Eshel; and Rabbi Amichai Lau-Lavie, social activist and storyteller, writer and community leader, will discuss various stories of queer Jews from the Holocaust to the present and how these stories continue to impact us today.
