University of Mount Saint Vincent & WQXR Radio Station Host Bronx Classical Kids Fair

On Sunday, September 27, Riverdale’s University of Mount Saint Vincent (UMSV) will host WQXR’s Classical Kids Fair, with free live performances and hands-on music activities on campus. Performers include UMSV Conservatory students, Bronx Arts Ensemble Woodwind Quintet, FMDG Music School, and Rami Vamos and the Bayberry String Quartet. The Literary Freedom Project will also explore the life of Thomas “Blind Tom” Wiggins, a formerly enslaved musical prodigy, with a reading and live music by pianist Kyle P. Walker. Children can also try musical instruments and take part in live dance and songwriting workshops, family sing-alongs, and the New York Public Library’s storytime.
