Changes Coming On 7 + N Lines From Queens To Manhattan: What To Know

Service will be suspended for several weekends in early 2024, as the MTA works on the Queensboro Plaza accessibility project.

NEW YORK CITY — Subway riders who regularly travel between Manhattan and Queens are being informed of service changes for several weekends in early 2024.

Train service on the N and 7 lines will be suspended between the two boroughs in the beginning of 2024, as part of an ongoing project at the Queensboro Plaza station.

The MTA had also closed service on these two lines this past weekend as they work on accessibility improvements at the station such as new elevators, modified pedestrian bridges, and an enlarged mezzanine.

On these particular weekends, 7 trains will not run between 74th Street-Broadway and 34th Street-Hudson Yards. N trains will not run between 39th Ave-Dutch Kills and 57th Street-7 Avenue.

N trains will run in two sections: between Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue and 57th Street-7th Avenue, and via the Q line to and from 96th Street.

The MTA said it would run additional service on the E and R lines to accommodate riders from the 7 and N trains. Free shuttle buses will also run in three sections: From 74th Street-Broadway to Queens Plaza; from Queens Plaza to Vernon Blvd-Jackson Avenue; and from 39th Avenue -Dutch Kills to Queens Plaza.
