NEW YORK CITY — Hours before musical legend Elton John took the stage at Madison Square Garden on Tuesday, his jet was forced to make an emergency landing in Ireland en route to New York City.
The singer was flying from the United Kingdom to perform in New York when his jet suffered hydraulic failure about an hour into the flight, forcing the pilot to turn back, according to multiple reports including ABC7 New York.
Upon return to Farnborough Airport, witnesses said the pilot had to abort the landing twice when winds reached 80 mph.
