Get Knicks Playoff Tix: NYC's Latest COVID Vaccine Incentive

NEW YORK CITY — Knicks fans who waited to get their coronavirus vaccine might want to hurry over to Madison Square Garden.

New York City's latest vaccine incentive is a chance to win free Knicks tickets, including for Wednesday's Game 2 playoff game against the Atlanta Hawks.

Mayor Bill de Blasio, donning a Knicks hat, announced the incentive Tuesday morning with help from franchise great Allan Houston.

"We want to encourage all New Yorkers to get vaccinated against COVID-19," Houston said.

Any New Yorker 16 and up can come to Madison Square Garden on Tuesday or Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. to get their shots, Houston said.

Newly vaccinated attendees on Tuesday will be entered into a raffle to win tickets for Wednesday's game, he said.

People who get shots on Thursday can win tickets to the next playoff game at the Garden or other future games, de Blasio and Houston said.

De Blasio also took time to lightly rib Hawks star Trae Young.

"I have an important official announcement," he said. "This is very serious, I want to get this out. A message to Trae Young, on behalf of the people of New York City, and anyone who cares about actually playing basketball the right way: stop hunting for fouls, Trae."
