Linehan Praises State Funding for Cheshire Police Department

Cheshire was one of six municipalities to receive reimbursements for body cameras.

From CT State Rep:State Rep. Liz Linehan (D-Cheshire/Southington/Wallingford) praised the state Bond Commission’s approval Friday of a $122,962 reimbursement to the Cheshire Police Department for the purchase of body cameras and video storage devices.

“Cheshire police officers do a great job keeping our community safe, and we should ensure they have the equipment needed to carry out their duties to the best of their ability. Body cameras are increasingly being used to improve safety and accountability, but they do come with an expense,” Rep. Linehan said. “I’m glad the state recognizes assisting local law enforcement as a worthy investment.”
