New York Ataturk Chorus Concert Sponsored By Turkish & International Music Ensemble

Mother's Day Special Concert will be performed by New York Ataturk Chorus sponsored by Turkish & International Music Ensemble on Sunday, May 13 at Tribeca Synagogue. The program starts with the concert at 4:00pm. Followed by a friendly cocktail with fresh snacks and special drinks.
New York Ataturk Chorus' annual concerts have been meaningful and remarkable music events gathering NY and NJ Turkish communities with avid music lovers. The chorus specializes in Turkish Classical Music while performing a variety selection of Classical, contemporary, folk and popular Turkish music in its concerts. It includes a diverse group of Turkish vocalists and few instrumentalists, the individuals who intersect in learning and cherishing Turkish music under the supervision of the founder and music director Nedim Katgi.
Nedim Katgi

Born in Istanbul in 1955, he graduated from Istanbul Technical University, State Conservatory Department in 1980. He worked as an assistant professor at the same academic institute between 1980 and 1983. With his own created band Otobüs Yolcuları (Bus Passengers), he worked with many artists and earned professional music awards. He has been teaching music to children at the American Ataturk School for 30 years and continues his professional music career with local and foreign artists in live performances. His passion in Turkish Classical Music brought him into establishing a Turkish chorus in NY, New York Ataturk Chorus in 2008. Katgi has been training, coaching and directing the chorus since its foundation.
