Five New York City residents won national titles in the ACBL Summer North American Bridge Championships.
New York City residents Joe Grue, Roy Welland and team captain Martin Fleisher claimed victory in the Spingold Master Knockout event, and John Rengstorff and Glenn Eisenstein, also of New York City, claimed victory in the Senior Swiss event at the Summer North American Bridge Championships (NABCs). These were two of the 18 championship-level events held in Washington, D.C., from July 20 to 30.
This is the sixth first-place NABC title for Fleisher, seventh for Grue and ninth for Welland. It’s Rengstorff’s third first-place NABC title and Eisenstein’s first first-place NABC title.
