NEW YORK CITY — A raucous Burning Man-style festival held in Tulum, Mexico turned into a coronavirus superspreader event — and seeded infections that reached New York City, according to a report.
Scores of partiers who attended the "Art With Me" festival between Nov. 11 and 15 fell ill with COVID-19, as detailed in a Daily Beast report.
The festival forged ahead for days of partying, music, art and more despite the coronavirus pandemic, which has particularly ravaged Mexico. The Daily Beast report details conditions that likely spread the virus to numerous attendees.

It also included an interview with the proprietor of a private COVID-19 testing and care clinic in New York City. About 60 to 70 percent of the positive cases her clinic has seen are a direct result of either people coming back from Art With Me or been exposed to an attendee, she told the Daily Beast.
