NEW YORK CITY — It's official: spring has sprung.
New York City is due for a weekend of mostly sunny skies and highs in the 60s, according to the National Weather Service.
The pleasant days will start Friday — Earth Day — when highs will reach 69 degrees without a cloud in the sky, the forecast states. Things will get slightly cooler on Saturday before rebounding on Sunday.

"Partly sunny, with a high near 65," the forecast states.

The city is also under a special weather statement Friday that warns of hazardous fire conditions.
"The combination of relative humidity values dropping to 25 to 30 percent and frequent wind gusts between 20 and 25 mph will contribute to an elevated risk of fire spread today," the statement reads.
