NYPD Officer, National Guardsman, Dies In Middle East Of Medical Episode, Officials Say
The officer was serving with the U.S. Army National Guard, NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch said.

NEW YORK, NY — A New York Police Department officer who has been serving in the Middle East with the U.S. Army National Guard has died of a medical episode, NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch and Mayor Zohran Mamdani said Saturday.
Sorffly Davius, who was a major serving with the 42nd Infantry Division in Kuwait in support of Operation Epic Fury, died Friday, the statement from Tisch and Mamdani said.
Davius joined the NYPD in 2014 and was assigned to the 79th Precinct.
