Teen Girl Fatally Shot In The Head Near NYC School, NYPD Says

NEW YORK CITY — A 16-year-old girl was fatally shot near a New York City school on Monday evening, police said.

The incident happened around 5:05 p.m. near the Bronx Career and College Preparatory High School on Home Street and Tinton Avenue, police said.

The girl, identified as Evette Jeffrey, was found with a gunshot wound to the head. She was transported to NYC Health + Hospitals, where she was later pronounced dead.
