Throwing a Karaoke Party in Your Own Home

Throwing a Karaoke Party in Your Own Home

Everyone loves going out to the karaoke bar to blast some beloved tunes with their friends, but that can be pricy and restrictive, and the song choice sometimes is absolutely terrible! That’s why more and more people are doing karaoke on their own, either singing along to their favorite songs in the car, or scheduling out karaoke bars for private parties. But what if we told you that you could have a karaoke party right in your living room?

Well, with a mix of the right equipment, you can! And it’s easier than you think.

You can’t have karaoke without a microphone, but two microphones really makes the party! Mics are sold at near any electronics store, they can be purchased on Amazon, or they can even be rented out (if you’re looking for a professional mic for one-time use). You can get wired or wireless mics, and base your spending on how often you’ll be doing karaoke.

Now for the actual karaoke part, you can go and buy or rent a karaoke machine. This is a great option if you’re doing the party only once, and you won’t need karaoke software down the line. However, if this isn’t your only karaoke party, you may want to look into karaoke software, which can be downloaded and purchased online. This software has thousands of songs with lyrics built in, ensuring that any song you want will be available. If you really want to keep it cheap and simple, you can just head on over to YouTube, where you can find tons of songs with lyrics attached in karaoke format.

The last and most important thing you’re going to need is a speaker system, and what kind you use will depend on where you’re throwing the party. If it’s at your home, you can simply hook up your computer or karaoke machine right to your home theatre system, meaning that you won’t have to rent much. But if you’re organizing the party at some other venue, you can look into renting speakers or sound systems. These can range from small speakers for intimate parties, to huge speakers that can accommodate hundreds of people. The system that you choose will depend on your budget and needs.

And just because it’s a karaoke party, doesn’t mean it’s only karaoke! Remember that for a party to be fun, there should be food, music, and activities. For activities you already have karaoke ticked off, but try and have some snacks or food for your guests, and they’ll definitely need something to drink after they sing their voice away! And make sure to prepare music that you can play on downtime, because people can only karaoke for so long. With a mix of food, music, and karaoke, your party is bound to be a hit, and your friends will be begging you to organize more, instead of going out to expensive karaoke bars. You’ll also be able to sing in the privacy of your own setting, saving you painful renditions of “My Heart Will Go On”.
