Towson Y Announces Two New Directors

The Orokawa Y has two new staffers on its team, one to direct youth programming, another to direct the swim program.

From The Y in Central Maryland: The Y in Central Maryland is pleased to announce the addition of two new associates to the Orokawa Y in Towson. Kim Capone will serve as the Senior Swim Director and Jillian Pawlowski will serve as Senior Program Director. Both bring several years of Y experience to their new roles.

As Senior Swim Director, Capone will oversee programs and services including youth swim lessons, the center’s biggest swim program. In addition, she will supervise and manage the Orokawa Y’s swimming pools and swim associates.

Capone started her career at the Towson Y in 1991 as Swim Coach and Coordinator. She then spent 16 years with the Y in Hanover where she built a program for kids from local schools. For the last four years, Capone led the operations of the Y in Central Maryland’s Baltimore County Swim Centers in Randallstown and Dundalk.

Capone graduated from Springfield College with a B.S. in physical education. She resides in Hanover, PA.

As Senior Program Director at the Orokawa Y, Pawlowski will oversee all youth programs including sports, youth activities, summer camp and the “Stay & Play” program. Pawlowski has been with the Y for over eight years, most recently as the Sports Program Director at the Southtown Family Y in Buffalo, NY.

Pawlowski has a dual B.A. in recreation and leisure management and English literature from the State University of New York. She resides in Parkville.
