• Newark girls varsity soccer takes Taylor Bliss Championship (waynetimes.com) — Newark’s girls varsity soccer team captured the Taylor Bliss Memorial Tournament championship, edging Canandaigua in penalty kicks after a 1-1 tie through regulation and two overtimes. Earlier, Newark beat North Rose-Wolcott 2-1, with standout goalkeeping from Ryann LaRue and multiple Newark players earning All-Tournament honors, including LaRue as MVP.
