A 70-year-old man hospitalized with a broken nose and eye socket — his family says the attacker had been harassing him for weeks (whec.com) — Newark police are investigating a brutal assault that left a 70-year-old longtime resident hospitalized with serious facial injuries after being struck with a two-by-four. Family members say the suspect had harassed him for weeks, and police are also examining whether racial bias played a role as they review video, witness accounts, and formal charges.
