2-4 Years in Prison for Spring Valley Man who Violated Order of Protection

Someone called the cops about an altercation and he was caught in physical contact with someone he was supposed to stay away from.

Edwin Thezan, 27,of Spring Valley will serve to two to four years in state prison for the crime of first-degree criminal contempt, Rockland County District Attorney Thomas P. Zugibe announced.

He was sentenced Wednesday before New York State Supreme Court Justice William A. Kelly.

Zugibe said that on Dec.12, 2014 a concerned citizen called the police upon hearing two people arguing. Upon arriving at 94 North Main Street in Spring Valley, a police sergeant observed Thezan knowingly violating an order of protection and subjecting the victim to physical contact.

His trial started on July 28, 2015 and he was found guilty on Aug. 6 of Criminal Contempt in the 1st Degree.

The case was prosecuted by Senior Assistant District Attorney Janine Kovacs and Assistant District Attorney Nikitas Nicolakis.
