$250,000 State Grant Will Augment Clarkstown Roadwork

NY Assemblyman Ken Zebrowski helped bring the town welcome funds toward this year's re-paving project.

A cool quarter-million dollars from New York State will augment this year’s $3 million road paving project in Clarkstown.

Town Supervisor Alexander Gromack said the money will cover paving three more roads in New City as part of the town’s annual program.

“We have 20 to 30 roads we’re doing this year,” he said. “We have a priority list that’s never-ending.”

Paving will start in the next two weeks—and be done by the time the asphalt plants close for the winter, Gromack said.

The $250,000 grant was obtained with the help of Assemblyman Kenneth P. Zebrowski.

“After this year’s harsh winter, our municipalities have been struggling to keep up with their infrastructure demands,” Zebrowski said. “I have been advocating for State assistance to help repair damaged roads and am happy that I was able to secure this grant for the Town of Clarkstown. This grant will help the Town meet some infrastructure needs without additional property taxes.”
