Clarkstown Road Rage On Palisades Leads To Felony Gun Charge: Police

CLARKSTOWN, NY — Flaring tempers on the highway led to a felony gun arrest, according to police.

A Chesterfield, Missouri man was arrested on Monday after a road rage investigation on the Palisades Parkway, in Clarkstown, led to felony weapon charges, according to the New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation at Middletown.

State police said 37-year-old Jason Salvatore was charged with felony second-degree criminal possession of a weapon (loaded firearm); and felony third-degree criminal possession of a weapon (ammunition feeding device).

Around 1:43 p.m., on Monday, troopers from Haverstraw responded to the road rage incident on the parkway near exit 9, in the town of Clarkstown, according to NYSP.

During the investigation, Salvatore was found to be in possession of a Glock 19 with a loaded high-capacity magazine, according to state police.

Salvatore was later arraigned in the Town of Clarkstown Court.

He is scheduled to appear back in the Town of Clarkstown Court on May 8, according to state police. The 56-year-old victim in the case was granted a full stay away from Salvatore..
