3 Warrants out for Man Stopped on I-87

Sex abuse, stolen property and parole violation, state police said

State Police stopped a vehicle on I-87 for speeding, traveling 97 mph in a posted 55 mph zone, on Feb. 7.

The driver of the vehicle, later identified as Giovanni Rivera, 29 of Bronx, NY, provided Troopers with a fake name.

Once identified, it was determined that Rivera has 3 active warrants, one for absconding parole, another for Criminal Possession of Stolen Property, and lastly Sexual Abuse in the 1st Degree.

Rivera was processed for the False Personation, a Class B Misdemeanor and turned over to the Ramapo Police Department to face charges of Sexual Abuse in the 1st Degree.
