American Legion Thanks Cops for Work in 2015 New City Standoff
The incident on Little Tor Road had neighbors holed up in their houses while Clarkstown police attempted to deal with the gunman.

Recently two officers in the Clarkstown Police Department received recognition from the American Legion for their work in the Little Tor Road standoff in 2015.
They were part of a recognition ceremony in the New City American Legion Post Thursday.
The incident started when a resident of 67 N. Little Tor Road called the Clarkstown Police Department to report that she had been threatened by a fellow family member who had brandished a shotgun, threatened to kill her and other family members as said he would shoot any police who might respond to the home to try to intervene.

Police closed Little Tor Road to traffic at New Hempstead Road and at Phillips Hill Road. They asked all neighbors to stay inside and away from their windows as Cordaro was firing at people. The negotiators were unable to make headway, and police tried to use gas agents to drive the man, later identified as Vincent Cordaro, out. Instead, he began to fire at police again. One round of fire was returned by a member of the police department.
Two firearms—a scoped 308 rifle and a shotgun—were recovered from the bedroom Cordaro, 57, had been shooting from. More than 200 rifle and shotgun rounds were also found in the house, as well as seven rifles and four shotguns.
