Rockland BOCES’ Adult Education program has been named one of the highest-rated Employment Preparation Education (EPE) providers in the state for the third consecutive year. The program recently received a rating of “highly proficient” on the NYSED/Adult Career and Continuing Education Services (ACCES) Report Card for the 2012 fiscal year. The state-funded EPE program provides Literacy and English as a Second Language instruction, life skills instruction and high school equivalency preparation to adults.
“The Adult Education staff is committed to doing its best to help students improve both their English skills and literacy skills,’’ says Supervisor Al Moschetti. “Working together in a collaborative way with our students produces positive outcomes.”
The annual report card evaluates adult education programs throughout the state in the following areas: Educational Gain, Post Test Percentage, Follow-Up Outcomes, Goal Setting and Survey Response. NYSED and ACCES assess these categories based on statewide performance averages of adult education programs.
