SUFFREN, New York –Feb. 19, 2018—The town of Ramapo, New York has awarded the contract for management of Spook Rock Golf Course to appliedgolf and the course will open the pro shop doors on February 19, 2018.

Recognized as one of the premier golf management companies in the Northeast, appliedgolf will manage the golf operations, agronomy, financial management and marketing of the course under a multi-year management contract. appliedgolf welcomes Jim McCann as the new Director of Golf, Jonathan Coe as the new Head Golf Professional, and Reese Wasson as the new Superintendent at Spook Rock Golf Course.

Spook Rock Golf Course was once selected as one of the Top 25 Public Golf Courses in the United States, by Golf Digest Magazine. The award winning 150 acre, par 72 course derived its name from Native American lore when a young Dutch woman habitually met her Native America Indian lover at the ‘spook rock’. Designed and constructed by Frank Duane, the course opened the front nine in 1969, and the full eighteen in 1970. It is situated on the former site of Kane’s Open, the first Boy Scout Camp in the United States.
