ARC of Rockland Receives Award for Video Featuring Local Businesses
Beckerle Lumber in Congers and Nice Pak/PDI in Orangeburg hire staff through ARC.

ARC of Rockland was the recent recipient of the New York State ARC 2014 Choice Award for its video entitled Working Together.
The video features NicePak/PDI in Orangeburg, NY and Beckerle Lumber in Congers, NY. The two businesses are among those which have hired people with developmental disabilities through ARC of Rockland’s Career Services Division.
The award was presented during NYSARC’s 65th Annual Convention Awards Luncheon, Oct. 17. The event took place at the Hilton Albany in Albany, NY.

Ernie Garcia, staff writer for the Journal News Media Group, was the recipient of the prestigious NYSARC, Inc. 2014 Media Award.
Garcia was nominated by ARC of Rockland for his March 26 article entitled Transforming Work. The story emphasized the benefits of hiring people with developmental disabilities and shed light on the role that business and industry play in ensuring the integration of people with disabilities into the broader community.
