Are You or a Loved One Struggling with Substance Abuse or Mental Health Issues?

Create a personal Wellness Recovery Action Plan in an upcoming course in Clarkstown.

From the Mental Health Association of Rockland

The Mental Health Association of Rockland’s Reach One program will begin an 8-week course Nov. 7 to help people with mental health or substance abuse concerns create their own Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP) plans to stay emotionally healthy, increase personal responsibility, and improve their quality of life.

The WRAP plan was created by peers to maintain their own personal wellness and is rapidly becoming recognized as a powerful tool of recovery.

“WRAP saved my life,” said an anonymous writer to the Copeland Center website. “I had 15 suicide attempts, and had given up on life. I had become my illness, and did not see a way out. With WRAP, I was able to see that I was competent, and that I could find new ways to deal with my depression and mood swings.”

The course is free but registration is required. It runs from 1-3:30pm on Nov 7, 14, 21, Dec 5, 12,19 and January 2, 2015 at MHA Rockland, 140 Route 303, Valley Cottage.
