Bharara to Be Honored By Crime Stoppers in New Rochelle
The U.S. attorney will also give a keynote address at the dinner.

U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara will be honored Feb. 5 at the Westchester County Crime Stoppers dinner in New Rochelle.
Bharara will also be the keynote speaker and will be given the organization’s Crime Stopper of the Year award for his successful prosecutions of major cases involving political corruption, narcotics trafficking, terrorist plots, corporate and financial fraud and gang-related violent crime.
Derickson K. Lawrence, chairman of the Westchester County Crime Stoppers, said Bharara’s accomplishments over the past six years have made people aware of what challenges public and private institutions face.

“If his past speeches are any guide,” he said, “we can expect an instructive, engaging and sober assessment of the value of public trust in the leadership of those institutions.”
Also honored will be Westchester County Police Commissioner George N. Longworth and Reginald Ward, chairman of the New York Law Enforcement Foundation, for their contributions to the county and the law enforcement community.

Proceeds from the event, will go to support Westchester County Crime Stoppers, which offers cash rewards in hard-to-solve criminal investigation and cold cases in the county.
The dinner will be held at 7 p.m., Friday, Feb. 5 at the VIP Country Club in New Rochelle.
