Big Brothers Big Sisters Cyber-bullying Prevention Program

On Tuesday, November 19th, Keller Williams of New City sponsored a three session Cyber-bullying Prevention Program at the BBBS Juvenile Program at the Village of Haverstraw Community Center. The program addressed bullying and cyber-bullying.  The presenters are focused on the Bully, the Victim, and the Bystander.  The speakers, Denise Weiss, Esq., Tammy W. Schwartz, Esq. and Lorri Eskenazi, Esq. of Advocates Against Cyber-bullying together with 15 year old, Hallie Weiss used a practical approach to understand and deal with Bullying in general and Cyber-bullying specifically. Through an interactive approach the presenters provided the group with activities to teach students about bullying.  Director of Jump, Carleen Hobbs, stated that the participating youth really enjoyed the presentation and gained knowledge and information on how their actions on the internet and in the “schoolyard” can affect others.
