Big Brothers Big Sisters of Rockland County receives Community Block Grant

NEW CITY, NY June, 2014 – Big Brothers Big Sisters of Rockland County is pleased to announce that it has received $16,750 for its Juvenile Cyber-Bullying Program at the Haverstraw Community Center. 

The primary objective of the prevention curriculum is to identify dangers on the internet and build critical-thinking and decision-making skills to protect the participants from bullying in any form. The sessions will examine the nature of bullying, identify strategies, and build skills for protection against aggravated bullying provocation and tips for being “cell phone savvy. The program will run each Tuesday during the school year.
