Capital Projects Update: Congers Elementary School and More
There are about $78 million in maintenance and renovations identified, according to a presentation to the Clarkstown school trustees.

During the Clarkstown Board of Education meeting Sept. 23, the district’s manager of buildings and grounds, Anthony Valenti, made a presentation about projects that have been finished, are being worked on, and are coming up.
Among the highlights of the presentation, which is available in its entirety on the district’s website, Valenti talked about the upcoming Buildings Condition Survey. That must be completed every five years and is the basis for all planning for repairs, renovations and enhancements.
The last one was done in 2010 so the buildings and grounds employees are beginning work on the new one, with about $75 million in maintenance issues identified including old boilers (three are 40-50 years old), asbestos tile and roof replacements.
