Chairman Wolfe Recognizes Suffern HS Girls' Volleyball State Champions

Mounties Captured Class AA Championship Title, A First for Section 1

Alden H. Wolfe, Chairman of the Rockland County Legislature presented Certificates of Appreciation to the Coaches and Members of the Suffern High School Girls’ Volleyball Team in recognition of winning the Class AA State Championship held in Glens Falls, NY in November. The recognition ceremony took place prior the recent meeting of the County Legislature.

“Winning the state finals for any team in any sport is an extraordinary accomplishment,” Chairman Wolfe said. “When the Suffern High Girls’ Volleyball Team won the Class AA state title, it was an unprecedented accomplishment, because it was the very first time a Section 1 team won the Class AA contest. This victory is a story of smart coaching and some very talented young women who were driven to be the best.”

Chairman Wolfe presented certificates to Head Coach Sean Barnes and team representatives.

“You proved that you were the very best,” said Wolfe, “Your team, your coaches and your parents deserve a very special congratulations on this accomplishment.”
