Clarkstown Cops Get an Earful Over Operation Safe Stop
The police department's social media announcement drew a lot of comments.

Friday is Operation Safe Stop in Clarkstown, as police target school bus travel times.
The announcement drew a lot of comments on Facebook, including a school bus driver, who said, "So many people pass my red lights on a daily basis."
Asked why they don't do this every day, police responded that they're out there every day, and sometimes they also have special initiatives to remind everyone of the rules.

The idea of cameras on school buses came from a mom who wrote about her kids' bus stop on Route 304 and said, "I wish the district could install cameras on the buses like other areas and tickets could be mailed out. The cameras could probably be paid for in no time with the fines and maybe it would slow people down and keep our kids safe."
