Clarkstown, Nanuet Schools To Have Evacuation Drills

The Clarkstown Police Department will be assisting school districts in the Town of Clarkstown with evacuation drills that will be taking place over the next few months. This release is to alert the public that during these drills, students will be exiting the school and school buses will be present on school grounds at times other than normal arrival and dismissal periods.

These evacuation drills are state mandated and are meant to ensure that students and staff are familiar will evacuation procedures. Clarkstown police officers will be present during these drills to both participate in the drill and to ensure the safety of students and staff during the drills. Residents and motorists are asked to stay clear of the school campuses while these drills are taking place. Ready Clarkstown Emergency Alert Notifications will be sent to residents living around the schools as the drills take place.
